Surprise, surprise, surprise - Korea!!! - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By hockeysignor - July 15 - 10:00 amHad it for about 3 weeks. Runs nice, has very good power and looks decent. Mileage has been avg. (21mpg overall, w/about 70% highway). Trade off in mileage for power. Actually has slightly better mileage #s than the 2.7L. This is my 1st Korean auto and Im impressed, so far. Lets see how it wears, down the road. Like the fact that I still do not have any rattles/squeeks, like most US/Japan made vehicles I have owned. Time will tell.

Nice car, poor tranny - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By MarcBaltimore - January 20 - 10:00 amI bought this vehicle because I needed versatility on the cheap. It has delivered. The fit and finish is excellent. Interior space is great. Im a wood worker and it has hauled plywood and long boards well. I only have 4000 miles on it so reliability is still to be determined. My only complaint is the automatic transmission. It is slow, stupid and easily confused. If you put the pedal down hard, it has horrible lag and then when the foot comes up the engine/tranny are still confused. Wish this was better.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By ANDREW - January 12 - 3:16 pmMy wife and I love this vehicle. Great value for the money. We got it new from factory only 6 miles on it. Great for traveling and long trips. We have auto transmission, as well as the space is great especially for a man who is bigger like me. It has some pep for a 4 cyl and gas mi is about what Id expect. It even comes with a 1st aid kit and full size spare is great. I get regular oil changes and have not had one major issue except for the common ones.. Tires, brakes etc. Would not trade my vehicle in for anything. Got extended warranty (value?) for 7/100.

Love the exterior, inside so-so - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Knowidentity - June 19 - 10:00 amI Love the exterior design, gas mileage, and overall performance BUT, the front seats are too small and uncomfortable. It is great to drive locally but, unfortunately, uncomfortable for longer trips.

Great Vehicle, So far... - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By jblewis - October 7 - 10:00 amPurchased a 2004, 3.5, GLS AWD Santa Fe about a week ago. Im sure we made the right choice. We looked at Ford Escape, Honda CRV, Tribute and RAV 4. None rode as comfortably. Very smooth handling. Feels solid, too. A few minor quibbles about the interior--the armrest is too low, the windshields angle picks up some weird glare in certain sunlight conditions and the cup holders could be better placed. Of course if youve looked at the Santa Fe you know that gas mileage is terrible. But we liked the ride so much that we simply pledged to walk a little more and drive a little less to conserve some fuel.

Realistic & previous Hyundai Owner - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Feegs - August 30 - 2:00 amGreat Value!!! Smooth Ride!!! Limited space for Big Driver & Passenger in front due to center console which constains leg room toward console. Thats the only beef, otherwise, a fantastic, fun ride with the best warranty in the market! Im over 300 lbs and I love it!
